LaxVerse ("the App") is operated by Pete Cecil ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use LaxVerse.
We built LaxVerse for young athletes. We take your privacy seriously — especially because many of our users are under 18. We collect only what we need to make the app work, we never sell your data, and we give you control over your information.
LaxVerse is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. When you first open LaxVerse, you will be asked to confirm that you are at least 13 years old.
If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@laxverse.app.
| Data Type | What We Collect | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account Information | Email address, display name, age confirmation (13+) | To create and manage your account |
| Photos | Lacrosse photos you upload from your camera roll | To personalize your app experience with your own images |
| Mood Selections | The mood you select each day (e.g., "Locked In," "Butterflies") | To provide your daily check-in experience and track your mindset over time |
| Streak & Activity Data | Daily app opens, streak counts, milestone achievements, grace day usage | To maintain your streak and milestone progress |
| Usage Analytics | Screen views, feature interactions, app performance data | To improve the app experience and fix bugs |
| Device Information | Device type, operating system version, app version | To ensure the app works correctly on your device |
We do NOT collect: your real name (unless you choose to use it as your display name), date of birth, phone number, location data, contacts, or any financial information.
We use the information we collect to:
Provide and maintain the App — delivering your daily verse, tracking your streak, displaying your mood history, and showing your personal photos as backgrounds. Improve the App — understanding how features are used so we can make them better. Send push notifications — your daily verse reminder and milestone celebrations (you can turn these off in your device settings at any time). Respond to support requests — if you contact us with a question or issue.
We do NOT:
Sell your personal information to anyone, ever. Share your data with advertisers. Use your data to build advertising profiles. Use your photos for any purpose other than displaying them to you within the App. Share your mood data with anyone outside of LaxVerse.
When you upload photos to LaxVerse, they are stored securely on our servers (hosted by Supabase). Your photos are private to you — no other users can see your uploaded photos unless you explicitly choose to share content using the "Send It" feature.
When you use "Send It" to share a verse card, the shared image is generated from your content. The recipient sees the shared card only — they do not gain access to your photo library.
You can delete any photo from your library at any time. If you delete your account, all of your photos will be permanently deleted from our servers.
Your data is stored on servers provided by Supabase, a trusted cloud infrastructure provider. Supabase stores data in secure, SOC 2-compliant data centers.
We implement appropriate technical safeguards to protect your information, including:
Row-Level Security (RLS) policies ensuring users can only access their own data. Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS). Secure authentication for account access.
While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share limited data only in the following circumstances:
Service Providers: We use Supabase for data storage and Apple for app distribution and push notifications. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy obligations. Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request. Safety: We may disclose information if we believe it is necessary to protect the safety of any person.
You have control over your data:
Access: You can view your mood history, streak data, and photos within the App at any time. Delete Photos: You can delete any photo from your library at any time from within the App. Delete Your Account: You can request deletion of your entire account and all associated data by contacting us at privacy@laxverse.app. We will process deletion requests within 30 days. Push Notifications: You can turn off push notifications at any time in your device's Settings. Data Export: You can request a copy of your data by contacting us at privacy@laxverse.app.
If you are a California resident under the age of 18, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Age-Appropriate Design Code Act (AADC):
You may request deletion of content or information you have posted. We do not sell the personal information of any user, including minors. We do not use personal information of users under 18 for profiling or automated decision-making. We do not use dark patterns or design techniques that encourage users to provide more data than necessary.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete all of your personal information, including photos, mood data, and streak history, within 30 days. Some anonymized, aggregated data (e.g., total app usage statistics that cannot identify any individual) may be retained indefinitely.
LaxVerse may contain links to external websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any external sites you visit.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other means prior to the change becoming effective. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when it was most recently revised.
